Why do you create children's books?

Short Answer:

It fills me with pure joy.

Long Answer:

As the youngest of six kids, I had always wanted children of my own. My wife and I tried to have kids almost immediately after getting married, but after seven long years of trying, it seemed impossible. My heart had a hole in it that needed to be filled by the joy, wonder and pure truth that children bring. That's when I decided to dive head first into the world of children's literature. I began ceaselessly studying picture books, attending conferences, and soon started writing and illustrating picture books of my own. As the pages turned, so did the years, and my wife and I were finally lucky enough to adopt our beautiful son, Ezra. The journey to our son, led me to picture books, and now, I can never imagine my life without either of them.
