Zach von Zonk
Children's Book Author/Illustrator
Who is Zach von Zonk?
A teller of stories. An imaginer of worlds. A ball of goof.
Zach von Zonk (he/him) is a children's book author/illustrator, the youngest of six kids, and the father of an eight-year-old attorney.
A Creative Director by day, Zach graduated from Chicago Portfolio School for Writing and Art Direction, and also completed the School of Visual Storytelling Children's Book Program.
He works primarily in pencil, watercolor, and ink...and has even used a leaf blower to make his watercolors run like the wind!
For his debut picture book, Zach beamed readers to outer space with "Old MacDonald Had a Farm, E-I-UFO." In his career, he has also created chaos with the "Despicable Me" Minions, spun tales for Spider-Man, and his words and illustrations have been published in SCBWI's magazine, "The Prairie Wind."
Zach is a PAL member of SCBWI and lives in Chicago, Illinois.
